You may have heard that exfoliating is one of the key steps to achieving radiant skin, but do you actually know why this weekly ritual is important?
As we age, the rate of skin cell turnover slows, meaning the body takes longer to shed old skin cells and generate new ones. Combined with a decrease in the production of collagen (a protein crucial to skin's firmness + elasticity) skin ends up looking dull, dry and in need of some serious attention.
Our favourite ritual to help smooth, soften and brighten skin is a weekly exfoliation with our Fresh Face Exfoliant! Today, we're sharing exactly how to use it in combination with the rest of our botanically charged skincare range.
How to use?
Pour a small amount into the palm of your hand or a small dish. Add a small amount of water until you have a thin paste consistency, then gently massage onto a damp face, avoiding eyes. Rinse off and pat dry. Use once or twice a week for best results.
For an extra decadent and exfoliating skin treat, massage a small amount of our Nourishing Cleansing Balm into skin, and before removing, apply a small amount of our Fresh Face Exfoliant on top and massage into cleanser in circular motions. Rinse with a clean muslin cloth and lukewarm water, pat dry with a clean towel.
Our Nourishing Facial Oil is the perfect choice post-exfoliation as clear, clean skin can absorb product most effectively, resulting in a dewy, cared for complexion.
What does it do?
A gentle exfoliant that won't irritate sensitive skin, our combination of almond flour, quinoa flour, oat flour, clay and brightening essential oils helps clear away dead skin cells and add radiance to any complexion.
Rather than harsh manual exfoliators that cause irritation and micro-tears in the skin, our exoliant is crafted with gentle flours, including quinoa which acts as a safe and natural skin exfoliant because it has a soft husk, which means the grains are smooth enough not to tear the skin.
We hope you love this weekly ritual as much as we do!
